Daphne Impey

Coming from a family where the ladies stitched, I started sewing and knitting from a young age. From 1972 I worked with a creative American designer, Maggie Norton, who made patchwork and applique clothing. Her work was sent all over the world before she moved to Australia.

I enhanced my skills while working for Sara Ferni Cambridge, who specialised in Liberty fabric and silks using traditional embroidery techniques as embellishments.
'I am influenced by the countryside, and wild flowers, and like William Morris and Mackintosh. I also enjoy teaching, and sharing skills and ideas with others'
